Stored script execution via unsanitized form fields
Published Mar 18, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Constant Contact Forms before 1.8.8 allows remote authenticated users with Editor access to run script in visitors' browsers. The Add New Form workflow stores Button text and Field Description values without validation or output encoding, then renders them in embedded forms. Editor-level access and a visitor opening a post containing the malicious form are required; the script runs in that visitor's browser.
