Authenticated script execution via unencoded attachment title
Published Mar 18, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Caseproof ThirstyAffiliates before 3.9.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in an administrator's browser. The plugin accepts an image attachment title containing JavaScript and renders that title without sufficient output encoding when an administrator views it. Author-level access is sufficient to plant the payload, and administrator viewing triggers execution that enables privilege escalation.
