Published Feb 25, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Microsoft Windows Camera Codec Pack allows local users to execute code when a crafted image is opened. WindowsCodecsRaw fails to validate image data before COlympusE300LoadRaw writes past the end of an allocated buffer. Exploitation requires the current user to open a malicious file or visit a malicious page, and resulting code runs in the current process.
