Unauthenticated data disclosure via SAXParser XXE
Published Jul 20, 2021 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
XXE in Oracle BI Publisher 5.5.0.0.0, 11.1.1.9.0, 12.2.1.3.0, and 12.2.1.4.0 allows remote attackers to read data via HTTP. The SAXParser endpoint dereferences an external-entity URI in a crafted XML document and embeds the retrieved content into the document for further processing. The endpoint listens on TCP port 9502 by default, requires no authentication, and exposes information readable by the service account.
