Administrator password disclosure via cleartext ePO handling
Published Apr 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cleartext password exposure in McAfee Content Security Reporter before 2.8.0 allows ePO administrators to view MWG log-reader credentials. The ePO extension handles the MWG or MWGCS read-only account password without encryption when supplying credentials used to retrieve logs for CSR analysis. Access requires an ePO administrator and reveals only the configured log-reader password; no integrity or availability impact is reported.
