System-context command execution via VJgeneric configuration packet
Published Dec 8, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Improper input validation in Bosch VRM-based products and VIDEOJET decoders allows remote authenticated users to execute system commands. The VJgeneric component accepts a crafted configuration packet from a network-reachable administrative session without adequately validating command content. Administrative privileges are required, and successful exploitation runs arbitrary commands with system privileges across affected VRM deployments and decoders.
