CVE-2021-23851

Code execution via recovery-interface stack overflow

Published Mar 30, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in Bosch CPP Firmware allows attackers to crash the recovery web interface or execute code via a crafted TCP/IP packet. The recovery-image web interface mishandles packet-derived data and overwrites a stack buffer; Bosch has not disclosed the affected handler or packet field. The interface is reachable only after an administrator boots recovery mode or after physical access to the camera, where exploitation can crash the interface or run code.
