Remote code execution via front-matter JavaScript
Published Dec 10, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Remote Code Execution in md-to-pdf before 5.0.0 allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted Markdown front matter. The converter passes front matter to gray-matter with its JavaScript engine enabled, so ---js content is evaluated as code. Exploitation requires control of Markdown processed by the converter; execution inherits converter-process privileges and can affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
