File placement outside volume via crafted names
Published Jul 14, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Path traversal in elFinder.Net.Core before 1.2.4 allows remote attackers to place uploaded files outside the configured volume. File-system driver rename paths combine a user-controlled name without verifying that the resolved path remains beneath the volume root. The ASP.NET host must expose the connector, and no authentication or user interaction is required; traversal can place an uploaded file in a parent directory.
