Service crash via empty CSV export
Published Apr 13, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Denial of service in mongo-express before 1.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to crash the service by exporting an empty collection as CSV. The CSV export path fails to handle an empty collection result and lets the resulting exception escape the request handler. Access to the administrative web interface and an empty MongoDB collection are required; the bounded consequence is a process crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
