CVE-2021-23359Network attack vector

Command execution via unsanitized child_process.exec input

Published Mar 18, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Command injection in port-killer 1.0.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary operating-system commands. The package passes attacker-controlled input to child_process.exec without sanitizing shell metacharacters before command interpretation. Exploitation requires an application to pass user-controlled input into the package and grants command execution with that application's privileges.
