Spreadsheet command execution via unneutralized CSV cells
Published Apr 18, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
CSV formula injection in Eaton Intelligent Power Manager Infrastructure 1.5.0plus205 and earlier allows attackers to plant executable formulas. The asset-management CSV workflow fails to neutralize formula-leading characters in imported fields, causing spreadsheet software to interpret exported cells as formulas. Exploitation requires access to the adjacent management network and execution occurs when a formula-capable spreadsheet opens the exported file.
