CVE-2021-23279

Unauthenticated file deletion via unvalidated driverID

Published Apr 13, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Improper input validation in Eaton Intelligent Power Manager before 1.69 allows remote attackers to delete local files via crafted packets. The saveDriverData action in meta_driver_srv.js accepts an unvalidated driverID and uses it in file-deletion handling without adequate validation. No authentication is required, but the attacker must reach the IPM service from an adjacent network; exploitation can remove files on the host and interrupt service.
