Local privilege escalation via writable installation resources
Published Jun 29, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Improper permissions in the Windows installation component of affected TIBCO Spotfire products allow local users to gain elevated privileges. Installation leaves certain files or folders writable by low-privileged accounts, and an elevated component later executes software placed there. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and grants the component's operating-system privileges.
