CVE-2021-23267Network attack vector

Authenticated OS command execution via FreeMarker static methods

Published May 16, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Dynamic-code control failure in Crafter Studio 3.1 through 3.1.17 allows remote authenticated users to execute OS commands via FreeMarker templates. Crafter Studio's FreeMarker template model exposes static Java methods to developer-authored templates without blocking command-capable method access. A user must hold developer privileges and cause a crafted template to render; commands then run with the server process's privileges.
