Log-viewer deception via unescaped URL text
Published May 16, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Log injection in CrafterCMS 3.1 through 3.1.17 allows remote attackers to place deceptive text in administrator-visible logs via crafted URLs. Crafter Studio records attacker-controlled URL text as-is, and its log viewer presents that text without neutralizing it as untrusted content. Exploitation requires no account, but an administrator must view the affected log; the established consequence is misleading log content.
