Authenticated command execution via unrestricted SpEL
Published Dec 2, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Expression language injection in CrafterCMS 3.1 before 3.1.12 allows remote authenticated users to execute OS commands through SpEL. Crafter Studio evaluates attacker-supplied SpEL expressions in Spring beans without a restricted evaluation context. Administrator or Developer access is required, and successful exploitation runs arbitrary commands with the server process's privileges.
