Heap-buffer overflow in SoX allows context-dependent attackers to crash the application when a crafted input file is processed. The lsx_read_w_buf function in formats_i.c writes attacker-controlled file data beyond a heap-backed buffer. Exploitation requires a user or another local workflow to process the file, and the documented consequence is a process crash rather than code execution.
