PIV verification bypass via incomplete credential comparison
Published Nov 18, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Incomplete comparison in Gallagher Controller for affected Command Centre 8.x releases allows attackers to bypass PIV verification. The Controller's PIV verification compares credential data without all required factors; Gallagher has not disclosed the omitted factors or code path. Affected releases are 8.00 and earlier, 8.10 before 8.10.1284, 8.20 before 8.20.1259, 8.30 before 8.30.1359, and 8.40 before 8.40.1888; adjacent unauthenticated access to a Controller using PIV is required, and the bounded consequence is acceptance without complete verification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
