Script execution via unfiltered feed fields
Published Mar 4, 2021 · Updated Feb 25, 2026
Cross-site scripting in the Joomla! CMS feed parser 2.5.0 through 3.9.24 allows remote attackers to execute script via crafted feed fields. The parser fails to filter feed-field content before that content reaches browser-rendered output, allowing injected markup and script to execute. Exploitation requires a user to view content derived from the crafted feed, and the script runs within that user's browser context.
