Unauthenticated TMM crash via undisclosed SCTP requests
Published Sep 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper input validation in affected F5 BIG-IP releases allows remote attackers to crash TMM via undisclosed SCTP requests. The flaw lies in TMM request handling for a virtual server using an SCTP profile with multiple paths; F5 has not published the exact validation error. The multipath SCTP profile is required, and a successful request terminates TMM, interrupting traffic handled by that process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=16.0.x before 16.0.1.2, 15.1.x before 15.1.3.1, 14.1.x before 14.1.4.3, 13.1.x before 13.1.4.1, and all versions of 12.1.x
