Browser script execution via undisclosed DOM XSS
Published Sep 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
DOM-based XSS in the F5 BIG-IP Configuration utility allows remote attackers to run JavaScript in a logged-in user’s browser. F5 identifies only an undisclosed Configuration utility page and has not published the DOM source, sink, or unsafe operation on attacker-controlled input. Exploitation requires a logged-in user to interact with crafted content, after which script runs in that user’s context and can read or alter browser-accessible management data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=16.0.x before 16.0.1.2, 15.1.x before 15.1.3, 14.1.x before 14.1.4.2, 13.1.x before 13.1.4.1, and all versions of 12.1.x
