CVE-2021-23004Network attack vector

Service interruption via unintended MPTCP forwarding flows

Published Mar 31, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Denial of service in F5 BIG-IP allows remote attackers to interrupt traffic by sending Multipath TCP traffic to a standard virtual server. The forwarding path creates MPTCP flows even when the applied TCP profile does not enable MPTCP; F5 has not published the exact implementation error. Exploitation requires network reachability to an affected standard virtual server, and the documented consequence is limited to service availability.
