Editor-to-Administrator escalation via unchecked group move
Published Nov 19, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Privilege escalation in Concrete CMS 8.5.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to become administrators through the bulkupdate page. The bulk-update handler moves a group without checking whether the requesting user has permission to modify that group. An Editor must belong to a group that can view the page; a crafted HTTP request can then grant full administrative control.
