Remote code execution via upload path traversal
Published Sep 23, 2021 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
Path traversal in Citrix ShareFile Storage Zones Controller before 5.11.20 allows remote attackers to execute code through an upload request. The NeatUpload UploadHttpModule accepts an unvalidated id or uploadid value as PostBackID, and WritePersistFile uses it in a web-root path. No authentication is required; a crafted multipart upload can overwrite a Razor view, causing attacker-supplied code to run on the IIS server.
