Sensitive-data disclosure via disabled file encryption
Published Aug 16, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing file encryption in Citrix ShareFile Storage Zones Controller allows remote attackers to read sensitive data from affected storage zones. The CTX269106 mitigation tool clears the previously enabled file-encryption option, leaving files stored afterward without the intended encryption. Exposure requires a customer-managed storage zone where encryption was enabled before the tool ran and was not re-enabled afterward.
