Sharee search disclosure via default lookup routing
Published Jun 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in Nextcloud Android app before 3.16.0 allows attackers to read sharee search terms through the lookup service. The sharee-search path sends queries to the public lookup server by default instead of limiting them to the configured local Nextcloud server. Disclosure occurs when a user performs an ordinary sharee search without explicitly choosing global search, exposing only the entered search data.
