CVE-2021-22824Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated collector crash via unchecked message length

Published Feb 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Classic buffer overflow in Schneider Electric IGSS Data Collector 15.0.0.21320 and earlier allows remote attackers to restart dc.exe. The opcode 101 handler copies user-supplied data from a constructed network message without first validating its length. No authentication or user interaction is required; the attacker must know the IGSS project directory, and successful exploitation crashes the collector before it automatically restarts.
