CVE-2021-22760

Code execution via invalid pointer release

Published Jun 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Invalid pointer release in IGSS Definition 15.0.0.21140 and earlier allows attackers to execute code through a malicious CGF import. The importer fails to validate CGF-supplied data before releasing a pointer or reference, permitting memory corruption inside Def.exe. Exploitation requires a user to import the crafted file and can execute code in that user's context or cause loss of IGSS data.
