Code execution via unchecked CGF file data
Published Jun 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in IGSS Definition 15.0.0.21140 and earlier allows local users to read memory or execute code through a malicious CGF file. The CGF import path lacks sanity checks on user-supplied data, allowing Def.exe to read beyond an intended buffer boundary. Exploitation requires a user to import the crafted file; successful processing can expose process memory or run attacker-controlled code in that user's context.
