Code execution via out-of-bounds CGF parsing
Published Jun 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in IGSS Definition 15.0.0.21140 and earlier allows attackers to disclose data or execute code via a malicious CGF file. Def.exe fails to validate user-supplied CGF data before parsing it, causing a read beyond the intended buffer during import. Exploitation requires a user to import the crafted file, after which process data can be exposed or attacker-controlled code can run.
