CVE-2021-22748Network attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unsafe file-save path

Published Feb 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Path traversal in Schneider Electric C-Bus products allows remote authenticated users to execute code when a crafted file is saved. The file-save path handling fails to constrain an attacker-controlled pathname to the intended directory, allowing a file to be written where application code can execute it. Low-privileged access and a save operation are required; successful exploitation executes code with the affected process's privileges.
