CVE-2021-22746

Module reset via malformed TriStation packets

Published May 26, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Exception-handling error in Schneider Electric Triconex Model 3009 MP on Tricon 11.3.x allows attackers to reset the module. The TCM's malformed-packet handling resets the module when it receives a malformed TriStation packet with the write-protect keyswitch in program position. Highly privileged physical access is required, and the documented consequence is an availability interruption rather than data disclosure or modification.
