SYSTEM code execution via arbitrary file upload
Published Apr 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in Schneider Electric C-Bus Toolkit 1.15.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute code via file upload. C-Gate 2 command processing fails to validate user-supplied upload paths, allowing arbitrary files to be placed outside the intended directory. Successful exploitation runs code as SYSTEM, and ZDI reports that the service authentication mechanism can be bypassed.
