Code execution via unchecked CGF buffer copy
Published Mar 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Schneider Electric IGSS Definition 15.0.0.21041 and earlier allows attackers to execute code via a malicious CGF file. CGF parsing copies user-supplied data into a stack-based buffer without first validating its length, permitting the copy to overwrite stack memory. A target user must import or open the crafted file, after which code runs in the current process context and project data can be lost.
