CVE-2021-22696Network attack vector

Service interruption via unchecked request_uri retrieval

Published Apr 2, 2021 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

SSRF in Apache CXF before 3.3.10 and 3.4.0 through 3.4.2 allows remote attackers to interrupt OAuth authorization service. JwtRequestCodeFilter accepts any HTTPS request_uri without validating its destination and retrieves the attacker-selected JWT through a REST request. An exposed OAuth 2 authorization endpoint using JAR is required; repeated requests can exhaust server resources and interrupt authorization processing.
