CVE-2021-22647

Code execution via malformed 3DS and FBX files

Published Feb 23, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Out-of-bounds writes in Luxion KeyShot products before 10.1 allow attackers to execute arbitrary code through malicious 3DS or FBX files. The luxion_geometry_3ds.exe and luxion_geometry_fbx.exe importers inadequately validate file data and write past allocated buffers. Exploitation requires a user to open or import a crafted file, and resulting code runs in the affected application's process context.
