CVE-2021-22638

Code execution via project-file buffer over-read

Published Mar 3, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in FATEK FvDesigner 1.5.76 and earlier allows attackers to execute arbitrary code through a crafted project file. While parsing attacker-controlled project data, the application reads beyond the intended buffer; the affected field and parser routine are undisclosed. Exploitation requires a user to open the malicious project file, after which code execution can compromise that user's application session.
