CVE-2021-22545

Code execution via invalid memory offset load

Published Jun 29, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Use-after-free in the BinDiff plugin before 7.0 allows local users to execute arbitrary code through a crafted IDA Pro i64 file. The plugin's file-loading path reads an invalid memory offset from attacker-controlled file data, allowing control of the instruction pointer. Exploitation requires the crafted file to be opened or processed, and resulting code runs with the privileges of the affected process.
