EL3 code execution via overflowing buffer range check
Published Feb 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Integer overflow in EMUI 10.1.0 and 10.1.1 allows local users with kernel control to write outside the Secure Monitor's allowed buffer. The HISEE_SMC_INIT handler adds a caller-supplied buffer address and size without detecting 64-bit wraparound, allowing crafted values to pass its shared-memory range check. Exploitation begins in the normal-world kernel and chains the resulting writes into Secure Monitor read-write primitives and EL3 code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
