Service interruption via malformed message handling
Published Aug 23, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper input validation in Huawei S12700, S5700, S6700, and S7700 releases allows remote attackers to interrupt service. An undisclosed module insufficiently validates specific messages and cannot process them, stopping that module's service on affected firmware. Exploitation requires the ability to send those messages from an adjacent network; the published impact is a service interruption, with no reported data disclosure or modification.
