App redirection via malicious Wi-Fi construction
Published Jun 3, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper access control in Huawei EMUI 11.0.0 and 10.1.1 and Magic UI 4.0.0 and 3.1.1 allows physically proximate attackers to redirect apps. Huawei identifies the trigger only as malicious Wi-Fi construction and has not published the affected component or the access-control operation that mishandles it. Exploitation requires proximity to the target's Wi-Fi environment and changes application routing behavior, with no reported data disclosure or service interruption.
