Service disruption via message-processing out-of-bounds write
Published Apr 28, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Huawei P30 firmware 9.1.0.131(C00E130R1P21) allows remote attackers to interrupt service via a crafted message. Insufficient validation of a message parameter permits an out-of-bounds memory write while the phone processes the message, making the process and service abnormal. The attack requires no authentication but does require access to the target device's messaging path; impact is denial of service, with no disclosed data access or code execution.
