Remote service interruption via use-after-free
Published Mar 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Use-after-free in Huawei network appliances allows remote attackers to interrupt normal service via crafted messages to an affected module. The module mishandles specific operations in special scenarios, leaving memory referenced after release and causing a memory-use-after-free condition. Exploitation requires only delivery of a specific message to the affected module and can compromise service availability without authentication.
