CVE-2021-22284

Authenticated code execution via misconfigured COM access controls

Published Feb 4, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Incorrect COM interface permissions in ABB OPC Server for AC 800M before 6.0.0-4 allow remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. The server configures access-control lists on its COM interfaces improperly, permitting a low-privilege account to insert and run code on the hosting node. Exploitation requires network access, low-privilege credentials, and user interaction; successful code runs with the OPC Server node's authority.
