Unauthenticated remote device control via reusable serial enrollment
Published Sep 27, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Improper authorization in ControlTouch cloud portals before 2021-05-03 allows remote attackers to observe and control linked devices. The registration endpoint accepted a ControlTouch serial number during commissioning and reassigned the device to an attacker's portal profile without limiting enrollment to its initial use. Exploitation required the serial number and a specific commissioning window; successful reassignment granted end-user access to view and modify the building configuration remotely.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
