Authenticated denial of service via unpaginated dependency retrieval
Published Oct 4, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Denial of service in GitLab EE 12.6 through 14.1.6 allows remote authenticated users to degrade service via the Dependencies API. The endpoint retrieves a project's full dependency collection without pagination, so sufficiently large projects cause excessive backend work and resource consumption. Exploitation requires an account authorized to read the repository; the disclosed consequence is availability degradation, not data access or modification.
