CVE-2021-22024Network attack vector

Unauthenticated arbitrary log-file disclosure

Published Aug 30, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Arbitrary log-file read in VMware vRealize Operations Manager before 8.5 allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive log data. VMware identifies the vulnerable locus only as the vRealize Operations Manager API and has not published the endpoint or faulty operation that accepts the attacker-controlled file selection. Network access to the API is sufficient without authentication; impact is bounded to reading log files, with no reported file modification or service interruption.
