Authenticated OS code execution through undisclosed VAMI flaw
Published Sep 23, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Authenticated code execution in VAMI in VMware vCenter Server 6.5, 6.7, and 7.0 allows remote authenticated users to run OS code. VMware has not published the affected function or the incorrect operation that VAMI performs on attacker-controlled input. Access requires a valid VAMI account and network reachability to port 5480; successful exploitation runs code on the appliance operating system.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Published CVSS scores
CVSS describes severity. EPSS estimates exploitation probability.
Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
