Information disclosure via ThinPrint font integer overflow
Published May 24, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in VMware Workstation before 16.1.2 and Horizon Client for Windows before 5.5.2 allows attackers to disclose TPView memory. Crafted data in a font file causes an integer overflow in the ThinPrint TTCHeader parser before it reads beyond the intended memory boundary. Exploitation requires access to a guest VM or remote desktop with virtual printing enabled; the feature is disabled by default in Workstation and enabled by default in Horizon Client.
